The International Turfgrass Society (ITS) is a not-for-profit scientific organization established in 1969 to encourage research and education in turfgrass science, and to promote personal communication among the international community of turfgrass researchers by organizing international conferences to present turfgrass research and information on all phases of turfgrass production and use.
To this end, International Turfgrass Research Conferences (ITRC) are held at 4-year intervals. The hosts for past conferences have been England (1969), the United States (1973, 1993), Germany (1977), Canada (1981, 2001), France (1985), Japan (1989), Australia (1997), U.K. (2005), and Chile (2009).
The next ITRC will be held in Beijing, China in 2013. A refereed Journal of turfgrass research papers is published in conjunction with each conference.

Membership & Renewal 2010-2013 ITS membership application form (PDF format) 2010-2013 ITS membership application form (DOC format) Membership is for a 4 year period (currently 2010-2013), ending with the International Turfgrass Research Conference. All papers published in the ITS Research Journal require at least one ITS member among the authors. ITS membership benefits include a copy of the ITS Research Journal from the next ITRC, and discounts for ITRC registration and back issues of the ITRC Proceedings and Journals. Membership also includes a subscription to the ITS Newsletter and access to the Members Only section of the ITS website You can also pay for membership renewal online. First fill out the form which stores your membership data on the ITS Website. Then at the bottom of that form, select "submit" to continue to the PayPal system where it says "Or you can pay by credit card through PayPal". You don't need to have a PayPal account, and can pay by debit card or credit card. The financial transactions are all done at the PayPal site, so the ITS does not have access to your credit card or debit card information. The ITS justs gets a message from PayPal when a credit to the account is made. Please go to this site to start the online membership registration or renewal process. |

Proceedings of the 9th International Turfgrass Research Conference, July 15 - 21, 2001, Toronto, Canada are available online as a PDF file, which you can view/print with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. The Proceedings include the schedule of the scientific program, a list of delegates, abstracts of technical (non-refereed) papers, reports on the conference and minutes of business meetings. The full text of refereed scientific papers published in Volume 9 of the ITS Research Journal is not currently available online, but you may download a copy of the Table of Contents (PDF format). |

The ITS has published full text reports from every International Turfgrass Research Conference since 1969. Over the years the conferences have included volunteer scientific reports, invited papers, technical notes, and symposia, presented orally and as posters. Beginning with the 7th ITRC in 1993, scientific papers published in the International Turfgrass Society Research Journal have been fully refereed.
